Hi, I’m fifaRAWR and welcome to my first ever article on FUTWIZ. Some of you may know of me, but if you haven’t here’s a little summary. I’m a 17 year old English kid with a mad passion for FIFA and South American football, that occasionally does TOTW Predictions and occasionally uploads them to YouTube for my 16,000 subscribers to marvel over. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while, a blog where I could post articles focused around my TOTW Predictions; maybe even venture into other areas of FUT like TOTY or TOTS Predictions, potential upgrades or my thoughts on the game itself and maybe, just maybe, the odd post on real life football. Also, I’m not proclaiming to be any kind of article writing god before we start, I’m a complete and total amateur, just to get that cleared up. Finally please do bear in mind I am only human and there is a very good chance I will go about changing my mind quite a bit, or even forgetting players… yeah I do that quite a lot. Sorry.

Anyways, lets explain how I’m going to initially set out my TOTW Predictions – any feedback is greatly appreciated but at this point in time I do believe comments are not available on this page so please do tweet me @fifaRAWR, that’d be much appreciated (cheeky plug #1). So what I plan to do is set up every TOTW Prediction each week into three different articles and in each of these I’ll go over every single potential in form from the various locations:

  • One article for the five major European leagues (BPL, Bundesliga, Liga BBVA, Ligue 1, Serie A)
  • One for the remaining rest of the world leagues
  • One for showing you the final team, with reasoning as to, for example, why I chose one player over another or why so and so isn’t in my prediction.

That should be all for now and without any further ado, lets get straight into this week’s potential in forms, starting with the Barclays Premier League!

Potential In Forms | Week 12 | Barclays Premier League

GK: Wojciech Szczęsny (Arsenal) – 4 Saves, 3-0 vs Cardiff (3.5 Goal)

RB: Seamus Coleman (Everton) – 1 Goal, 4-0 vs Stoke (72>74)

CB: John Terry (Chelsea) – 1 Goal, 3-1 vs Southampton (83>84)

LB: Bryan Oviedo (Everton) – 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 4-0 vs Stoke (67>72)

CDM: Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) – 2 Goals, 3-0 vs Cardiff (77>81)

RW: Deulofeu (Everton) – 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 4-0 vs Stoke (75>77)

LM: Samir Nasri (Man City) – 2 Goals, 3-0 vs Swansea (84>85)

Arsenal’s fantastic start to the season continued as they stuck three past Cardiff in Wales, the Gunners had Wojciech Szczęsny to thank after they could have found themselves 1-0 down, but the Polish shot stopper came to the rescue and never really looked like being beaten throughout the contest. Another standout was Aaron Ramsey, who returned to the club Arsenal signed him from and continued his fantastic form, scoring another brace and is more than worthy of a SIF card. Everton’s fullbacks were in fantastic form as they both scored goals contributing to a 4-0 demolition of a normally very sturdy Stoke side, Seamus Coleman grabbing a goal and Leighton Baines’ understudy, Bryan Oviedo, going one better, scoring a good goal himself as well as grabbing an assist for Romelu Lukaku to poke home. However the star of the show was undoubtedly Deulofeu, the Barcelona loanee showing why he has the hype surrounding him with an incredible display, scoring one, setting up another and claiming his first MOTM award in the Premier League. Undoubtedly one to watch.

Regardless of what you may think of him as a human being, there is certainly no doubt not only over John Terry’s defensive skills, but also his aerial prowess and his threat from corners and set pieces. He once again showed off this aerial prowess, scoring Chelsea’s second as they came back from 1-0 down to beat this season’s surprise package Southampton 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. Finally, we have Samir Nasri and Manchester City continued their quite frankly absurd home form this year with a 3-0 over Swansea, the Frenchmen scored two second half goals after Negredo has opened the scoring to keep City’s home record this year at 100%.

Potential In Forms | Week 12 | Bundesliga

CB: Sokratis (Dortmund) – Good Performance, 3-1 vs Mainz (80>81)

LB: Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg) – 1 Goal, 1-1 vs Hamburger SV (74>74)

LB: Sejad Salihovic (Hoffenheim) – 2 Goals, 1 Assist, 4-4 vs Werder (77>79)

RM: Jefferson Farfan (Schalke) – 2 Goals, 3-0 vs Stuttgart (83>84)

CDM: Jermaine Jones (Schalke) – 1 Goal, 3-0 vs Stuttgart (77>79)

CM: Gonzalo Castro (Leverkusen) – 2 Assists, 3-0 vs Nurnberg (80>81)

LM: Arjen Robben (Bayern) – 2 Goals, 2-0 vs Braunschweig (88>89)

LW: Heung-Min Son (Leverkusen) – 2 Goals, 3-0 vs Nurnberg (76>80)

An defensive injury crisis at Dortmund has forced them into some unwanted changes, but you’d never guess it with the way Greek central defender Sokratis is playing. He’s been incredible in recent games, even in the 3-0 home loss to Bayern he was a huge standout and was again first class against Mainz. Ricardo Rodriguez, a fine young left back that had a fine game in Wolfsburg’s 1-1 draw against Hamburg, which included slotting home a 31st minute penalty. The eight goal thriller between Hoffenheim and Werder Bremen is what the Bundesliga is all about and another left back had a good game going forward, Sejad Salihovic scored two first half penalties as well as setting up Kevin Volland for his side’s third; suspect defensively, though. Two Schalke players now, Peruvian winger Jefferson Farfan and American central midfielder Jermaine Jones were key in their side’s 3-0 victory over Stuttgart at the Veltins Arena, Farfan grabbing two because Jones rounded off the game with a fine strike from outside the box in the 79th minute

Gonzalo Castro and Heung-Min Son were a successful combination for Bayer Leverkusen as they beat still win less Nurnberg 3-0 at home, Castro twice setting up Son for Leverkusen’s first and third goals and finally the kicker Player of the Week, Arjen Robben, who scored twice as Bayern comfortably beat Braunschweig at the Allianz; a fine display from the Dutch winger who’s position I’m still a little in doubt over. Could be a RM or a LM.

Potential In Forms | Week 12 | Liga BBVA

RB: Barragan (Valencia) – 2 Assists, 3-0 vs Osasuna (71>73)

CB: Gurpegi (Bilbao) – Fantastic Performance, 1-0 vs Barca (75>77)

CDM: Iturraspe (Bilbao) – Fantastic Performance, 1-0 vs Barca (77>79)

CDM: Xabi Alonso (Real) – Fantastic Performance, 4-0 vs Valladolid (85>86)

RW: Bale (Real) – 3 Goals, 1 Assist, 4-0 vs Valladolid (87>88)

ST: Jonas (Valencia) – 3 Goals, 3-0 vs Osasuna (81>82)

ST: Bueno (Vallecano) – 2 Goals, 2-2 vs Betis (74>74)

Valencia’s thoroughly erratic season continued as they dispatched ten men Osasuna 3-0, Barragan assisted up two of Jonas’ three goals as Los Che took all three points from Mestalla. Athletic Bilbao proved they are certainly no pushovers as they took three points off of a misfiring Barcelona side, Neymar, Sanchez and co. could make no impact on the game; defender Gurpegi and midfielder Iturraspe were the standout performers for Athletic. Real Madrid on the other hand certainly did not misfire as they brushed aside Real Valladolid 4-0, Gareth Bale grabbing his first hat trick for Real as well as setting up Frenchman Karim Benzema for another. However, not only did Bale proved how important he is in the absense of Ronaldo, but how import Xabi Alonso is to Los Blancos as a whole. This was only the midfielder’s second start at the Bernabeu in this league this season after injury, but he controlled the midfield beautifully putting in a truly world class performance. The game which spelled the end in Pepe Mel’s reign at Betis ended 2-2 between the home side and fellow relegation candidates Rayo Vallecano after Alberto Bueno came off the bench early in the first half to score two goals, including a 90th minute equaliser, to steal a point for Rayo. Again however, not 100% sure on his position – likely he could be a LM.

Potential In Forms | Week 12 | Ligue 1

CB: Loic Perrin (ASSE) – 2 Goals, 4-0 vs Reims (78>80)

CB: Sebastien Squillaci (Bastia) – Fantastic Performance, 2-0 vs Evian (73>76)

CDM: Gregory Sertic (Bordeaux) – 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 4-0 vs Ajaccio (75>77)

CAM: James Rodriguez (Monaco) – 1 Goal, 2-0 vs Rennes (83>85)

RW: Florian Thauvin (Monaco) – 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 2-0 vs Montpellier (72>74)

ST: Wissam Ben Yedder (Toulouse) – 3 Goals, 5-1 vs Sochaux (75>77)

Saint Etienne had their goal scoring central defenders to thank for three of their four goals in their 4-0 victory over Reims, of which captain Loic Perrin scored two, in little over two minutes! Believe it or not Arsenal fans, flop Sebastien Squillaci is actually having a rather good time of it in France the moment, putting in another great performance against Evian and putting himself forward for a second in form. Bordeaux’s poor start to the season improved slightly as they also won 4-0, the second of three Ligue 1 sides to do so this weekend and Gregory Sertic was at the heart of everything did, as well as scoring a goal and grabbing himself an assist. Jussie also a standout from this game, but I’ve gone for Gregory. A Falcao-less Monaco didn’t have too much trouble against Stade Rennais, mainly down to his Colombian counterpart, James Rodriguez, who scored a beautiful free kick and put in a fantastic performance all round. Penultimately, French talent Florian Thauvin was the star of the show as Marseille beat Montpeillier 2-0 in a relatively local game; many Arsenal fans said he was Marseille’s biggest threat in the Champions League game last week and is definitely one to watch in the future. Finally, nightclub rebel Wissam Ben Yedder scored a hat trick as Toulouse’s stuttering season seems to be picking up again after a recent dip in form, this weekend they beat struggling Sochaux 5-1 at home and are up to 12th in the table

Potential In Forms | Week 12 | Serie A

GK: Gianluigi Buffon (Juvents) – 4 Saves, 1-0 vs Udinese (86>87)

GK: Andrea Consigli (Atalanta) – 6 Saves, 1-1 vs Roma (80>81)

GK: Mattia Perin ( Genoa) – 9 Saves, 1-1 vs Torino (76>78)

CM: Riccardo Montolivo (Milan) – 1 Goal, 1 Assist, 3-1 vs Catania (84>85)

CM: Borja Valero (Fiorentina) – 2 Goals, 4-3 vs Hellas (82>83)

ST: Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli) – 2 Goals, 4-2 vs Lazio (84>85)

Good week to be a goalkeeper in Italy this week as three put in potential TOTW performances, Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon fantastically denied Antonio Di Natale on a couple of occasions and thus allowed Juve to nick a late win thanks to a Fernando Llorente goal, Andrea Consigli was outstanding in net for Atalanta as they claimed a draw against a slightly hiccuping Roma side and Mattia Perin was amazing for the second week in a row for Genoa, after denying Milan on countless occasions last week, this week he did all he could to keep out an attacking minded Torino side. Riccardo Montolivo scored his first of the season and assisted another in Milan’s 3-1 win over bottom of the table Catania, an all round fine performance. Monday night was a goalfest in Serie A, Borja Valero scored two early goals in La Viola’s 4-3 win over Hellas Verona and Gonzalo Higuain scored a brace for Napoli who beat a struggling Lazio side 4-2 in Rome after superb performances from both himself and Goran Pandev; both have very good chance at getting in forms.

That concludes Part 1 of my TOTW Predictions for Week 12 of Ultimate Team 14, in the next part I shall be covering the remaining world leagues in much less depth that this! Keep an eye out!
